The idea that flinty Representatives from the North country are the ones who provide primary legislative opposition to enacting new taxes in New Hampshire, is a myth. From examining voting records, I’ve found that core opposition to new taxes has come not from northern House members, but instead, from those representing New Hampshire’s southern tier towns. Southern tier towns are apparently, full of Massachusetts tax refugees who aren’t keen on replicating the government slop they just fled from. Shades of 1776.
One of our great southern tier New Hampshire, towns is Hampstead, and one of our great southern tier House districts is Rockingham District 8. Republicans representing Rockingham 8 have been among the strongest defenders of what’s described as the “New Hampshire Advantage,” the idea that limited government and low spending results in low taxes and great economic prosperity.
Sadly, due to illness, one of Hampstead’s own and one of the House’s staunchest opponents of big government and higher taxes, Representative Ed. Putnam, is retiring from the House. We’ll sorely miss his resoluteness. A very good man.
Jeff Oligny, a resident of Hampstead, has filed in the Republican primary to fill the Rockingham 8, void created by Representative Putnam’s retirement. I met Mr. Oligny, in connection with various legislative hearings in Concord. I was impressed by his earnestness, enthusiasm and commitment to limited government and to Republican ideals. I encouraged him to think sometime, about filing for a seat in the legislature.
Well, ‘sometime’ has now arrived. Mr Oligny’s name will be one of those on the Republican Primary ballot. If Rockingham 8 Republicans wish to elect someone to represent them who will continue to promote the Republican ideals and initiatives which have caused others to recognize New Hampshire as the best state in which to live, I’d encourage them to vote for Jeff Oligny as the candidate to fill Representative Ed Putnam’s hard to fill shoes. Dear Editor,

As legislative salaries are non-existent many of our state representatives are retirees with the time or luxuriants with financial resources to serve. Unfortunately these folks don't represent those of us with kids, jobs and oodles of other responsibilities. The residents of Hampstead, Kingston and Plaistow have a large opportunity ahead. Electing Jeff Oligny for their State Representative IS that opportunity.
An engineer and program manager, Jeff Oligny is an analytical problem solver who faces the problems of everyday working people. Take a look at his campaign website at www.olignyforrep.com. He is energetic, well organized and tech savvy. He is fiscally conservative and skeptical of ineffective government programs. He's a pragmatist who knows how to work with a budget to get a maximum yield from finite resources. He has the courage to say no, the essence of adult behavior, to the "if we only had more money" mantra of career civil servants. This working stiff hopes that our community sends Jeff Oligny to Concord for some real knuckle grinding, hardworking representation.

Respectfully,

Subject: Oligny for Rep.

Jeff Oligny, new blood needed in the state house...
Jeff Oligny of Hampstead , NH has registered for the Primary Election to run for state Representative. His district 8 would consist of Hampstead, Kingston and Plaistow, NH. Oligny supports the New Hampshire Advantage and will work towards strengthening families while fully understanding that government is "by the People and for the people". Go and see at www.olignyforrep.com
Oligny knows the issues that need to be worked on. Oligny can do for the people of NH what current Representatives cannot do; listen to the people and make informed policy on what truly matters for NH welfare.
Voters in NH have this great opportunity to have Oligny voice their concerns. While current politicians oftentimes favor their own ends, Oligny promises no more politics as usual which we see going on in Concord. The State House which now plagues our democratic process here in NH is due for positive a shake up. Jeff knows the issues and we deserve personal representation which Oligny will give us. Vote Oligny for State Representative on Election Day.
Jeff can make a real difference in our policy here. Please help elect Jeff Oligny for State Representative. A choice worth making.

Dear Editors,

Although I am not a resident of District 8, many of your readers are. I would like to introduce to those readers of District 8, a candidate for the House of Representatives, Jeff Oligny.
I have worked with Jeff at two leading electronic manufactures in New Hampshire and Massachusetts and have known Jeff for approximately 13 years. Although Jeff is new to politics, his intentions are pin point accurate and laser focused in the areas of New Hampshire family's interests. Jeff's Charter is to "help reinstate the American family and use the powers of the state to strengthen our families and not take advantage of them for economic gain." Jeff's engineering background will highly benefit him in this endeavor. The mindset of engineering problem solving combined with the purpose of Jeff supporting his local communities and businesses will only bring about logical results. Support for these communities he serves will be more effective when it is built on solid logical foundations. In the end, the people of District 8 will gain substantially from Jeff's presence in the House of Representatives.
Jeff is an intelligent and articulate man and a great father to two young children as well as an active member in his community. I urge the members of District 8 to visit his website at: www.olignyforrep.com to learn more about this candidate that would like to support his community in the NH House.

To the Editor,

A ballot is like a treasure map: X marks the spot where voters hope to find something of value. In the upcoming Republican Primary for District 8 (Hampstead, Plaistow, Kingston), the best value for your vote can be found at the spot where the name Jeffrey Oligny is found. Please see his website at www.olignyforrep.com.
Mr. Oligny, an engineer and program manager with BAE Systems, is an educated, analytical, and reasonable person with a talent for organization and an eye for detail, as you might expect an engineer to be. He's the kind of guy who sees through all the rhetoric and smokescreens to understand the real issues. Jeff is a problem solver. He not only understands the real issues, but can analyze the facts and options to arrive at real solutions. Moreover, he does so with an insistence on impartiality and fairness. Like most of us, Jeff has his personal opinions, but unlike most of us, he has a unique ability to separate opinion from fact, and make decisions based upon those facts. All too often, we see politicians putting party politics ahead of what's right and fair.
We need representatives like Jeff, who can put personal and party agendas aside in favor of the common good. Jeff has been working for the common good from the sidelines, and deserves an opportunity to employ his unique talents in a position from which he can be more effective. I strongly urge all voters, be they Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, or Independent, to put Jeff Oligny's talents to use as their representative from District 8. He's one person who will represent ALL of his constituents equally.
